This contract was done thanks to the synergy and know-how of two of our business units, Modular E+C and Industrial Construction and Assembly, as the ‘Cafeteria-Refuge Industrial Grinder- BICH’ project was completed. Thanks to this, our Mine Infrastructure proposal provides shelter for a range of 400-1.200 people at its peak, with main areas such as a cafeteria, offices, control rooms, and workshops, among others; both within the mine’s interior and on the surface.

With the possibility for future expansion to seven bays (2 future bays).

Contract includes demolition works, civil and electromechanical works for two belts needing modifications, with the goal of solving the problem of area pollution and the involved process. After 3 months of of preparation, final works of the project were executed during a pause in the plant at the end of the contract. All activities concerning supply, construction, assembly, and pre-commissioning are considered and supported by our mechanical, piping, CSA (civil, concrete, and structural), electrical and instrumentation areas for the implementation of the bypass which permit the transportation of fine mineral ore from the discharge of the secondary harness above belt 2220-CV0004-C01, and the discharge above belt 2320-CV010-C01, in order to eliminate the circulation of this material to the tertiary grinder; transporting it directly to the stockpile and thus diminishing the dust emission points.

Construction and assembly of the subterranean mine infrastructure (Grinding area industrial zone), which as part of an economic and logistical strategy for Codelco Chuquicamata allows optimized work time on the interior of the mine. This contract was done thanks to the synergy and know-how of our two business units: Modular E+C and Industrial Construction. Thanks to their efforts, our mine infrastructure proposal was able to house from 260 people to a peak of 400 people in principal areas such as the cafeteria, refuge area, and escape exits.
